Sesame Chicken

- 1 Fryer or Frying Pan
Ingredients
- 1-1½ lbs boneless skinless chicken cubed I reccomend thighs
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 cup buttermilk
- sesame seeds
- oil for frying
Flour Batter
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
Sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
- 4 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil optional
Instructions
- In a bowl add the chicken, eggs, and buttermilk. Mix until combined and set aside.
- In another bowl add in the flour and all the seasonings. Mix fully.
- In a medium saucepan on medium heat, add all the ingredients for the sauce. Stir until fully combined. Allow the sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes then cut off the heat.
- In small batches batter the chicken in the flour mixture ensuring it's fully coated.
- In small batches ensuring the fryer isn't crowded, fry the chicken for 5 minutes or until crispy and brown. Drain with paper towels
- On the last batch thats frying cut the heat back on on medium heat for the sauce and allow it to get hot.
- Add all the crispy chicken to a bowl and pour the sauce over it. Toss until fully combined. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
