Ingredients

  • 4 4-6 oz skinless salmon filets
  • 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
  • tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • cooking oil

Teriyaki Sauce

  • 6 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 6 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

Constarch Mixture

  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsp water

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan on medium heat, add the soy sauce. water, minced garlic, honey, and brown sugar. Stir until fully combined and leave on the heat for 2-3 minutes.
  • In a small bowl add the cornstarch and water. Mix until combined. Turn up the heat in the saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Pour the cornstarch mixture into the sauce while boiling and allow it to boil for another 1-2 minutes or until thickened then set aside.
  • Season the salmon with garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
  • Heat the oil in a large pan over medium to high heat. Sear on both sides for 4-5 minutes.
  • In a baking dish or in the same pan, pour the teriyaki sauce over the salmon. Bake for 5-7 minutes at 400 degrees.
  • Optional: Top with green onion and sesame seeds.
